Well it's already Friday and it's the last day of summer vacation. I can actually say that this year. I received a phone call yesterday from the high school secretary. She's going to be out for most of the 1st six weeks (due to her son being in a tagic accident) and wants me to sub for her. So I start on Monday morning. I'm glad to be subbing but wish it was for a different reason. But I can post good news for Kyle. He's improving so much. He still has a long way to go but each small step is a big step for Kyle and his family. The other boy that was in the wreck has been moved to a private room so that shows he is improving. I wish that everyone that reads this continue to pray for Kyle Moore and Richard Miller that they continue to improve.
I'm still without transportation but Doug says that my truck should be ready today. He could have had it finished yesterday but didn't want to rush on it and he really wants to test it out before he gives it back to me. I hate to drive it for four days again and the motor to go back out. I wish I could say the same thing for my dad's truck. It appears that they are having a LOT of problems with the motor they were putting in his truck. It was supposed to interchange with the motor he had but it's not. The stuff that came off his motor is not going on the new motor. So it's going a lot slower than it was first planned. Now dear hubby wants to put it on the back burner and work on other vehicles at the shop. But I can understand that--the other vehicles pay the bills while Dad's truck, Doug is doing for free since we were using the truck when it tore up.
Today is the first day that it's not raining since Monday. Which is nice but Kayla and I are stuck at the house, so it doesn't really matter. Here it is just 12:30 and the temperature is already at 99.5, and they said it was supposed to be in the upper 80's to lower 90's today. So we are back in the dog days of summer.
Last night we went to meet the teacher at Kayla's school. We only had to meet one new teacher for Kayla. All her other teachers she had last year. She also picked up her schedule. We weren't real happy with one of her classes. She wasn't supposed to have Art this year--she had it last year and this year Spanish was supposed to take it's place. Well we get her schedule and she has Art and Spanish. The class they dropped was Reading. Last year they had ELA (English/Language Arts) and Reading for a two class period with the same teacher. This year they will only have one class period for each teacher. That's where she has the new teacher so I guess they will get a little reading with ELA. So Kayla has: Technology, Science, Art I (which carries a credit to high school), Jr High Athletic/PE, Social Studies, Math, ELA, and Spanish I (which also carries a credit to high school). So when she starts high school she will have 2 credits. Last year's 8th graders are only carrying 1 credit to the 9th grade and that's for Spanish. So I guess it's good that she has Art.
Tomorrow, Kayla and I are going to go get our hair cut for the new school year. Kayla is probably going to get close to 6 inches cut off hers. I'm just probably going to get a neckline cut again. Mine is already short but the top and bangs area is too long.
