Well here it is the last day of November--where did the month go? Well I know that a lot of the time I was busy working and now the school has put a new filter on our computers at school and it won't let me access anything on the internet any more. Therefore it's hard for me to update. Also it was time to get ready for the American Thanksgiving. It was our first big holiday in the new house. I have been fixing Thanksgiving for about the last 13 years, ever since my mom got sick and was unable to fix for everyone. But I would usually fix it at my house and then take it to Mom's & Dad's, but then as she got sicker--I would just fix at my house and take plates to both sets of parents. Last year was my first Thanksgiving without my mom and it was the first Thanksgiving for Dad to spend with Charlotte and they were planning at first to spend it with her family so I didn't do a large family Thanksgiving last year. But this year we had the new house and I wanted to really celebrate and have them at my house. It was also the first time for Nancy, my mother-in-law to see my house. She has too much trouble trying to climb steps so she was never able to visit. But Doug was able to build two porches and a ramp at the back porch.
Last night we went to Tyler to see the Tyler Lights show. It's a drive through Christmas light show in a wooded area. It was beautiful. But who couldn't find their camera--yep, me. Tonight we are planning to go to Jefferson, Texas to ride the Rail of Lights. It's a Christmas train that goes around the bayou and shows Christmas decorations. Hopefully I will be able to find my camera and take pictures this time. Last year we went on the train in Rusk, Texas at Christmas time and they were decked out like Polar Express. And who didn't have a camera then? Yep, it was me then too. So I plan to clean out the truck and hope the camera is there.
Tomorrow, I'm supposed to go with my Nancy to the eye doctor. She's supposed to have a lens implanted in one eye and then later go back to doctor in about a week or two and have cataract surgery on the other eye.
And I'm scheduled to work two days this week. I'm scheduled for Wednesday (Elementary School UIL Competition) and Thursday (Jr.High UIL Competition)--which Thursday, Kayla will be competing in Spelling, Science and Listening Skills. She's already competed in Editorial Writing--we just don't know how she did yet. But speaking of Kayla--yesterday in the mail we got the Who's Who in Academic Excellence Book and Kayla's Plaque and Certificate for appearing in Who's Who. We are so proud of her.
Just one month left of this year. Where has time gone.
